Diversity - Duke Department of Medicine
Minority Recruitment and Retention
Diversity
Duke University is an equal opportunity employer with a commitment to a workplace that reflects our diverse community.

Our faculty, fellows and house staff all include members of various minority groups. The Department of Medicine's interest is based upon a commitment to excellence and leadership in all areas of medical care, medical education, and medical research, a mission that we believe cannot be achieved without the participation of under-represented minority men and women.

The Minority Recruitment and Retention Committee (MRRC) is composed of faculty, fellows, house staff, and medical students. MRRC works closely with the Vice Chair for Faculty Development and Diversity and with the Department’s house staff selection committee. MRRC provides career mentoring, leadership development, and social networking for minority faculty and trainees. In addition, MRRC sponsors outstanding minority visiting faculty for the George Phillips, Jr, MD and Martin Luther King, Jr. lectureships.
