Medical students develop their evaluation and patient care skills on the required eight-week core Medicine clerkship and on a variety of electives and subinternships. Many students also find faculty mentors and cutting-edge research projects for their third-year academic study in the Department of Medicine. Thank you for your interest in Duke. Students at undergraduate medical schools in qualifiying institutions may participate in the visiting student program. Given the large volume of learners on our services, we are unable to offer visiting clerkships or subinternships on General Medicine.
