Continued research projects in Bolivia, and visited Hong Kong and Taiwan!

The attendings I've worked with so far are incredible - eager to teach and many are leaders and trailblazers in their fields. It's humbling and incredibly exciting to work with them.

Reflections on the Duke Program

What were you looking for in a residency program?
The big three things for me were great people, high quality training, and opportunities to develop a career in global health. Through my interview day, I could tell that Duke was place where I could not only be challenged and grow as a clinician, but also be well supported by my colleagues and faculty.

What are the strengths of the Duke program?
Just being here at Duke gives you a wealth of opportunities to supplement your clinical training - it's truly incredible. However, the best part of Duke for me so far is the people. Everyone I've worked with from attendings to my co-residents are honest, humble, incredibly smart and accomplished people.

What are your observations about the relationships between faculty and house staff?
The attendings I've worked with so far are incredible - eager to teach and many are leaders and trailblazers in their fields. It's humbling and incredibly exciting to work with them.

Tell us about your co-interns. How long did it take to connect?
My med peds class of co-interns hit it off right away. It can be tough navigating both the medicine and pediatrics programs, but everyone we've meet have been incredibly warm, friendly, and tons of fun to hang out with. Regardless of which rotation you are on, there is always some kind of group hang out happening!
