Residency: Johns Hopkins Bayview Internal Medicine
I moved around a lot growing up but will say that I’m from Texas. I went to college at Duke, where I met my now-husband, and we have been trying to get back to Durham ever since.
I was drawn to do a fellowship in Palliative Care because of the meaningful patient interactions and the ability to help on a systems level when the healthcare system struggles to deliver true patient-centered care in chronic, critical, and end-of-life illnesses.
Duke offered exactly what I wanted from a program — plenty of interdisciplinary opportunities, multiple training sites, and the opportunity to work with an enormous array of patients and colleagues. I love Durham between the gorgeous scenery, the unmatched food scene, and the friendly people.
I enjoy hiking/trail running and am excited by the offerings in the Triangle and North Carolina in general. I am looking forward to traveling again after the pandemic because I love exploring new places. I am excited to learn and grow as a fellow at Duke!
