Reflections on the Duke Program
What were you looking for in a residency program?
I was looking for a group of supportive residents who I could learn from and have an amazing time working with.
What are the strengths of the Duke Program?
The Duke Family is the best part of the program! All your co-residents are here to support and help you. My first week of residency I had an unexpected family situation and I had to travel out of town. My JAR, the team attending, and chief resident all worked to make sure I could make it, no questions asked.
What are your observations about the relationships between faculty and house staff?
The faculty here is unbelievably supportive and embrace teaching. They provide the perfect combination of supervision and autonomy.
