Reflections on the Duke Program

What were you looking for in a residency program?
I was looking for a supportive environment where I would be challenged outside my comfort zone.

What are the strengths of the Duke program?
I love my co-interns! Everyone is very supportive. It has made the transition feel a lot easier.

What are your observations about the relationships between faculty and house staff?
The attendings are wonderful. I feel like I am having a conversation most of the time with them.

Tell us about your co-interns. How long did it take to connect?
Not very long!

What has surprised you most about Duke?
The feeling of family. I feel like I have a great support system already here and I haven't even been here that long!

About Duke University and Durham

What's best about living in Durham and the Triangle?
There is enough to do here! I came from Philly and feel like the food scene here is awesome!

Where did you choose to live, and why?
Berkshire on 9th. I wanted to be able to walk around and I can. It's awesome!

Based on your life, what advice would you give about moving to Durham?
I've loved it so far! It's a great place to live.

What do you like to do outside of medicine?
I like to go on walks around the campus and my apartment. And I am a huge foodie, so I love to eat out!
