Reflections on the Duke Program

What were you looking for in a residency program?
I was looking for a program that would expose me to a broad diversity of patients but I also wanted to train at a hospital where I felt like the faculty were excited to teach.

What are the strengths of the Duke program?
What you see at Duke is far beyond your typical bread and butter medicine (though you get your exposure to that as well). You learn a lot!

What are your observations about the relationships between faculty and house staff?
It really feels like a family here. Everyone genuinely cares about the quality of your residency experience.

Tell us about your co-interns. How long did it take to connect?
It did not take long at all!

What has surprised you most about Duke?
Everyone here is so friendly! The campus and the area surrounding are beautiful! Lots of places to explore and things to do

There are many great options and rent here is nothing compared to the west coast.
