Reflections on the Duke program

What were you looking for in a residency program?
The most important thing to me was finding a program that would be supportive of me while I explore my clinical & non-clinical interests, I was looking for a program that was clinically strong on both the medicine & the pediatrics side, while also having lots of Med-Peds physicians working on both sides that I could use as mentors.

What are the strengths of the Duke program?
Our clinical experience is incredibly strong, and we get to work directly with so many nationally-renowned experts in their respective fields. My co-residents are fantastic both in the hospital and to spend time with outside of work!

About Duke University and Durham

What's best about living in Durham and the Triangle?
There's a little bit of everything in the Triangle. Durham sometimes feels like a smaller town, but with Raleigh nearby it really has pretty much all of the amenities and attractions of a larger city. I love the Durham food scene! There are some great outdoor spots (Jordan Lake, the Eno River) within a few minutes of Durham, and it is easy to take a day trip to either the beach or the mountains.
