What did you do the summer before internship?
I traveled! (to Korea, Taiwan and New Zealand)

One strength that I didn't quite realize until I came here is just how supportive the program is towards the house staff, from learning and professional growth to personal well-being. I also feel like I could pursue any field in internal medicine and find great mentorship at Duke.

Reflections on the Duke Program

What are the strengths of the Duke program?
One strength that I didn't quite realize until I came here is just how supportive the program is towards the house staff, from learning and professional growth to personal well-being. I also feel like I could pursue any field in internal medicine and find great mentorship at Duke.

What are your observations about the relationships between faculty and house staff?
Supportive and friendly (this seems to be a culture at Duke, across disciplines).

About Duke University and Durham

What's best about living in Durham and the Triangle?
There are so many hip and fun restaurants/cafes in Durham, which I did not expect (especially coming from Chicago). There are also many very accessible state parks and beach in the area. It is the perfect balance of city scene and nature!

Where did you choose to live, and why?
I live in an apartment complex, about 10-15 min drive from the main hospital. I liked the quiet residential feel of the neighborhood but also still having an easy access to amenities like grocery stores and shops.

What do you like to do outside of medicine?
I like to paint, draw and craft.
