GIM recent funding awards: Oct 2018 - March 2019

Congratulations to the following General Internal Medicine faculty members who were recipients of research funding from October 2018 thru March 2019:

L. Ebony Boulware has received a sub-award through the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill for a project entitled "Breaking Down Care Process and Patient-level Barriers to Arteriovenous Access Placement Prior to Hemodialysis Initiation." Total funding will be $105,419.

Farr Curlin has received an award from the Foundation for Excellence in Education for a project entitled "Arete Initiative at the Kenan Institute for Ethics." Total funding will be $205,000.

James Davis has received an award from Pfizer, Inc. for a project entitled "Innovations to Increase Utilization of a Smoking Cessation Program ¿ A Retrospective Review." Total funding will be $99,984.

Rowena Dolor has received two awards: 

  • a sub-award through the Weill Medical College of Cornell University for a project entitled "The CAPTURE Study: Validatiing a unique COPD screening tool in primary care." Total funding will be $159,000.
  • a sub-award through the Oregon Health & Science University for a project entitled "A Community-based Assessment of Skin Care, Allergies and Eczema (CASCADE)." Total funding will be $89,926.

Nia Mitchell has received an award from the National Institutes of Health for a project entitled "Changes in Weight and Physical Function for Older African American Women in National, Peer-Led, Community-Based Weight Loss Program." Total funding will be $2,589,644.
