Reminder: Sign up for electronic W-2 option

Duke University and Health System employees are encouraged to to take advantage of Duke’s electronic W-2 (wage and tax reporting) form.

Electronic W-2 forms provide employees with a much better way to protect confidential data elements such as social security number and other personal information printed on the annual tax documents.

To receive the electronic W-2,  sign into the Duke@Work portal (the same method used for the pay statements) using the link provided, and click on the top row to highlight the election to make any necessary changes: https://work.duke.edu/irj/portal/W2OnlineElection

Other benefits with this process are highlighted below.

  • Electronic W-2 Forms are available online 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
  • Electronic W-2 Forms are available to employees earlier in January, due to the time requirements for the printing process.
  • Enhanced security since the online form is accessed using the net ID and password in the Duke@Work Portal.
  • Supports Duke’s Sustainability initiative

No action is necessary for faculty/staff members who have already enrolled in the electronic W-2 process and have discontinued receipt of paper W-2 forms.
