UNC’s Sheps Center for Health Services Research Seeking New Director

UNC ShepsAn opening has been announced for the Director of the Cecil G. Sheps Center for Health Services Research, the lead research unit for health services research at UNC-Chapel Hill. The Sheps Center is one of the oldest and largest university-based health services research centers in the United States.

The Sheps Center is a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment, with senior research fellows and directors from a wide range of backgrounds. Program areas within the Center comprise all areas of health services research including comparative effectiveness research, biomedical and health informatics, aging, patient-centered outcomes research, health workforce, child health, health care economics and finance, health care organizations, health disparities, health care engineering, mental health, and rural health.

Applicants should be senior scholars who appreciate and foster interdisciplinary research. The Director will have an appointment at the rank of full professor in an appropriate academic department at UNC. Applicants must have a record of distinguished health services-focused scholarship, as well as demonstrated administrative, leadership, and grant-development skills required for a major research institution.
