Odra Noel's "Map of Health," part of the Royal Society's Summer Science Exhibition in London, illustrates the diseased tissues that most affect each part of the world: Odra-noel-main-image-20136-1024x644 "When seen through the microscope, the tissues that form our organs and body parts can be stunningly beautiful, with all the complex structures that determine and enable their function forming beguiling, literally organic, patterns." North America is represented by adipose tissue; Central and South America by pulmonary tissue; Europe by brain tissue; the Middle East and central Asia as the cardiac muscle; the far East and Pacific by pancreatic acinar tissue; and Africa by blood cells.
