Save the date: January career development events

The School of Medicine Office for Faculty Development is offering several career development events in January: Navigating Difficult Issues in Scientific Publications addresses difficult ethical issues that arise during the race to get published and will help guide you through this sometimes sticky process. Lecture presented by Stephen Lisberger, PhD, chair of the Department of Neurobiology. Meets Thur., Jan. 16 from 12-1:30 p.m. in the Great Hall, Trent Semans Center. Click here to register. Getting Promoted in the Clinical Sciences is an interactive seminar that will introduce the five different tracks for promotion in the clinical science departments. The discussion will include: requirements for promotion on each track; examples of promotable achievements for each track; choosing a track; switching tracks; tenure clocks and the meaning of tenure; documenting your promotable achievements in preparation for "the dossier"; the promotion review timeline and review process.
