Reflections on the Duke Rheumatology and Immunology Fellowship

What were you looking for in a fellowship program?
Robust clinical experience, wonderful co-fellows, and supportive faculty.

What are the strengths of the Duke Rheumatology program?
Huge breadth of clinical exposure (between rotations at the VA, big Duke hospital, and Granville outreach), extremely supportive and approachable faculty, and the best co-fellows!

What are your observations about the relationships between faculty and fellows?
Faculty are very nurturing with the fellows but also treat us as colleagues/equals.

About Life in Durham

What's best about living in Durham and the Triangle?
All the outdoor activities that are a short drive away and there is always something to do (especially if you have little kids) without the traffic!

Where did you choose to live, and why?
Chapel Hill (15 min from work but with more of a suburban vibe than Durham).

What do you like to do outside of medicine?
Spend time with my family, play soccer, exercise, read, watch old moves, and bake!
