Career and Research Goals

I plan to pursue a career in academic medicine dedicated to the promotion of high value care and the eradication of health inequity in the United States. I hope to utilize the unique opportunities available to us as research fellows at Duke to equip myself for this lifelong vocation and journey.

What are the strengths of the Duke program?

I chose Duke Endocrinology because of its exceptional blend of collegiality, scholarship, and mentorship. I immediately felt at home with my colleagues, perhaps because of the clear emphasis Dr. Crowley and the program place on curating a team of excellent fellows and faculty who are, first and foremost, genuine and compassionate human beings. I am so grateful to have the opportunity to train with this wonderful endocrine family, and every experience I've had thus far has validated my choice.

Durham is also an ideal place to train. Immersed in nature, it offers a small town feel with all of the amenities, diversity, and culture of a large city.

Lastly, our patients come from all over the state (and beyond) and from all walks of life. It is a privilege to take care of so many unique and extraordinary individuals through the Duke Outpatient Clinic, Durham VA, Duke University Hospital, and our affiliated clinics.

I can't think of a better place to begin the next chapter of my career.
