What are your career goals?

I'm passionate about medical education and see myself as either staying within academia full-time as a clinician-educator or joining a private practice that works directly with residents/fellows.

What were you looking for in a fellowship program?

A program with a collegial environment that supports fellows both personally and professionally; one that exposures its fellows to the various niches within nephrology, specifically transplant nephrology and peritoneal dialysis; one that fosters autonomy; and one that resides within a livable city.

Which Scholar pathway will you choose and why?

Most likely the traditional 2-year pathway with the goal of completing a transplant nephrology fellowship afterwards. I believe this pathway will allow me to pursue both my interests within the field of nephrology as well as medical education.

What are the strengths of the Duke program?

First and foremost is Duke's commitment to helping the fellows achieve their professional goals. This is made evident by providing the fellows with the opportunity to switch to a 3-year research track, the exposure to the various niches within nephrology, and the flexibility during 2nd year to focus on areas of interest.
