Older adults and geriatricians find benefits to telehealth.

Like many of us, Cathleen Colón-Emeric, MD, chief of the Division of Geriatrics, has older parents who live nearby. Here are some of her suggestions for navigating the new and urgent conversations and decisions facing many families, including her own.

Kathleen Cooney, MD, chair of the Department of Medicine, has announced that Cathleen Colón-Emeric, MD, MHS, FACP, AGSF, will assume the role of Chief of the Division of Geriatrics, effective January 1, 2019.

Cathleen Colon-Emeric MD, MHSc, professor of medicine (Geriatrics), has been appointed associate dean for research mentoring for the School of Medicine.

Cahtleen Colon-Emeric, MD, associate professor of medicine (Geriatrics), and Senior Fellow in Center for the Study of Aging and Human Development, received a Duke Health Scholars Award this spring. This award is presented to faculty members who have an outstanding and established research path. Each award recipient receives substantial funding to further his or her research findings.

The Duke School of Medicine has selected additional faculty members for the Duke Health Scholars and Duke Health Fellows Program. Among the faculty honored are six individuals from the Department of Medicine.

The School of Medicine Office for Faculty Development announced the inaugural participants in its ALICE program, a new leadership development opportunity for mid-career women faculty.
