Panelist included, Eileen Maziarz, MDMatthew Luedke, MD, FACNS; and Xunrong Luo, MD, PhD, who weighed in for the diagnostic reasoning discussion.

The Department of Medicine recently held its annual Fellows Research Retreat, a virtual event for fellows with a focus on establishing research careers. 60 fellows and about 15 faculty and staff attended the January event.

Xunrong Luo, MD, PhD, instructor of medicine (Nephrology) and pathology, will present her research at the Department's Research Seminar Series on Friday, May 31, 2019 at 12 p.m. in Duke Hospital Room 2002.

Two new faculty in the Department of Medicine are among 12 in the School of Medicine who were recruited within the last year as part of the Translating Duke Health (TDH) initiative. These new faculty members—representing a spectrum of career stages—were recruited to Duke because of their expertise in numerous fields including transplantation, neurosurgery, gene therapy, HIV, and more.  

Xunrong Luo, MD, PhD, Margaret Gray Morton Professor of Medicine at Northwestern University, will join the Duke Division of Nephrology on September 1, 2018. Dr. Luo, a kidney transplant expert, will serve as director of translational research for the Duke Transplant Center.
