DGIM is committed to facilitating high quality research studies and supporting grant applications.  Beginning with the February NIH cycle, we are offering internal grant review, modeled on the process used by our colleagues in the Durham HSR&D ADAPT Center.

Our goal is to improve grant funding rates through timely, supportive feedback to PI’s and to give all DGIM research faculty and fellows experience in grant reviews.  We plan to recruit 3 reviewers to provide feedback on each grant application.  DGIM research faculty will be asked to participate as reviewers, along with those who self-nominate.

For the first cycle (February submission), we offer reviews for NIH, AHRQ, or PCORI RO1 and career development proposals submitted through DGIM.  All DGIM Principal Investigators submitting grants are strongly encouraged to participate.  The deadline to submit grant materials for internal review is December 22, 2023 and reviews/feedback will take place during the week of Jan 8, 2024.   We encourage you to participate as a reviewer or applicant.

If you wish to participate in this internal grant review cycle, send an email to Julia Walker by 10/31/2023 specifying the grant type, funding agency, title, and suggested peer reviewers.
