Why Your Gift Matters

Please consider making a gift today.

The Duke Department of Medicine is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of all through excellence in research, teaching, and patient care. Philanthropy plays an important part in enabling and sustaining this vital work.

You may direct your gift in the way that is most meaningful to you. Your gift can honor or remember someone special, support the research of a promising physician-scientist, fund a scholarship for future doctors and other caregivers, and much more.

Your gift matters – thank you!

George McLean

Donor Feature: George McLean

George McLean, MD’73, spent his happiest years as a medical student and resident. It was in his third year at Duke University School of Medicine that he found his calling in endocrinology, doing research on growth hormones with Robert Fellows, MD, PhD. McLean credited his education at Duke for honing his skill as a diagnostician.

In appreciation of the gifts of knowledge and training he received at Duke, the George W. McLean estate has funded an endowment to support endocrinology research by young investigators. Read more about his gift.
