The committee structure builds on a Vice Chief of CEC in each division. There are also four subcommittees on research, clinical, education, and career development/department climate initiatives focused on developing concrete short-term and long-term goals that are actionable and measurable.
The CEC Committee works closely with entities within the space of civility and equity in the Department of Medicine, the School of Medicine, and the University to ensure effectiveness and reduce duplication of effort. The CEC committee is part of the DOM Office of CEC, and works closely with Vice Chair of CEC. It also is in bidirectional collaboration with other DOM Vice Chair Offices, Division Chiefs, and other DOM leaders. The CEC Committee reports directly to Kathleen Cooney, MD, MACP, Chair of the Department of Medicine.
If you have questions and/or want to stay informed about CEC initiatives, contact the VCCEC in your division or the CEC Committee Chair, Julius Wilder, MD, PhD.
