Course Overview

The Cardiac Imaging Symposium is dedicated to exploring the latest advancements and techniques in echocardiography. Through engaging presentations, interactive discussions, and hands-on learning opportunities, the symposium aims to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to navigate complex clinical scenarios and deliver optimal patient care in the evolving field of cardiac imaging and echocardiography.

Target Audience

This symposium is designed for cardiac sonographers, imaging cardiologists, and healthcare professionals involved in cardiovascular imaging.

Learning Objectives

  • To understand the role of strain imaging in assessing cardiac function in malignancy patients. Echocardiographers will be able to differentiate between strain abnormalities and preserved EF in clinical interpretation. Cardiac Imagers will implement standardized protocols for strain imaging acquisition and analysis. Providers will develop proficiency in reporting and interpreting strain measurements accurately. Attendees will recognize the potential impact of strain abnormalities on clinical management and patient outcomes.
  • Attendees will explore the role of advanced imaging modalities in assessing cardiac adaptations in athletes. Echocardiographers will be able to differentiate between physiological changes and pathological findings in athlete's heart. Attendees will gain an understanding of the strengths and limitations of various imaging techniques for athlete evaluation. Discuss current and emerging treatment options for cardiac conditions in athletes. Implement multidisciplinary approaches to athlete care based on comprehensive imaging assessment.
  • Discuss echo and multimodality presentation of cardiac amyloidosis and associated diagnostic, treatment strategies and options to improve clinical outcomes and disease trajectory. 
  • Explore the role of advanced imaging modalities in the assessment of aortic stenosis. Understand the added value of 3D echocardiography and strain imaging in aortic stenosis evaluation. Discuss strategies for integrating multimodality imaging for comprehensive assessment. Enhance proficiency in interpreting complex cases of aortic stenosis and guiding treatment decisions. Implement multidisciplinary approaches to aortic stenosis management based on comprehensive imaging assessment. 
  • Understand the fundamentals of quality in the echo lab, including image acquisition and interpretation. Learn standardized methods for measuring and assessing quality metrics in echocardiography. Familiarize with referencing guidelines and standards to ensure consistency in imaging practices. Explore the potential role of artificial intelligence (AI) in streamlining quality assurance (QA) programs and enhancing efficiency. Discuss practical steps to standardize QA processes.
