Victoria Seewaldt, MD, professor of medicine (Medical Oncology), has received a grant for $250,000 from the Avon Foundation for Women.
In a message thanking the foundation, Seewaldt noted that Avon support has allowed the Duke Women's Wellness Clinic to
- Develop a free Durham community clinic where women are screened in the community and then navigated to Duke imaging (free) and our specialty clinic (free).
- Forge a partnership between the Durham community, Duke Women's Wellness, and Nicholas School of the Environment.
- Develop a research based early detection program that links the Durham community with state of the art imaging and prevention trials.
