Celebrating Match Day 2019

The Duke Internal Medicine Residency Program congratulates newly matched medical students today who participated in the 2019 National Resident Matching Program.

The new intern class that will start at Duke in late June will include 46 categorical, 11 preliminary (7 Neurology, 2 Ophthalmology, 1 Dermatology, 1 Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation), 6 Combined Medicine-Pediatrics and 2 Combined Medicine-Psychiatry.

The categorical interns will come from 28 different institutions, including 11 from Duke. Twenty-two of the categorical interns are female, 24 are male.

"Thank you to our faculty for your support during the internal medicine residency recruitment season and for making Duke the best place to work in the country," said Kathleen Cooney, MD, Chair of the Department of Medicine.

Please join us in welcoming the outstanding 2019 intern class to the Duke Family!
