Chief Residents 2012-13 announced

Diana McNeill, MD, vice chair for education and Mary Klotman, MD, chair of the department, have announced the selection of the Chief Residents for the 2012-2013 academic year: Jeff Clarke, MD Chief Resident - Duke University Hospital Dr. Clarke received his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, IN, and will complete his Residency in Internal Medicine in 2011. Dr. Clarke will be staying at Duke to complete a fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology. Dr. Clarke's current research interests include "Immunologic Consequences of Systemic Chemotherapy on Circulating Immune Parameters in Patients with Metastatic Colorectal Cancer." Nicole Greyshock Chief Resident - Ambulatory Care/Durham Regional Hospital Dr. Greyshock received her medical degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, Chapel Hill, NC, and will be completing her Internal Medicine Residency in June, 2011. Dr. Greyshock will be staying at Duke to complete a fellowship in Endocrinology. Dr. Greyshock's research interests include "Poor Nutritional Habits as Predecessors of Chronic Disease. Jason Webb Chief Resident - VA Medical Center Dr. Webb received his medical degree from University of Nevada School of Medicine, Reno, NV, and will be completing his Internal Medicine and Psychiatry Residency in 2012. Dr. Webb will have the unique opportunity to serve as Chief Resident for the Internal Medicine-Psychiatry program during the 2011-12 academic year prior to assuming his duties as Chief Resident for the VA Medical Center. Dr. Webb's plans are to pursue his interest in Palliative Medicine, and he recently returned from the AAHPM Annual Assembly where he was selected to present his work with Dr. Galanos, titled "Doctor Can We Turn 'It' Off?: The Conundrum of LVAD’s and Palliative Consultation." Please extend congratulations to this outstanding group of Chief Residents for the 2012-2013 academic year.
