DGIM welcomes 3 new faculty members

We are proud to welcome 3 new faculty members to the Division of General Internal Medicine.

Talia Bernal, MD, received her medical training from Miami University and completed her Internal Medicine Residency and Chief Resident year at George Washington University in June 2019. She joins our faculty this month as a hospitalist at Duke University Hospital. 

Denise Pong, MD, joins GIM faculty as a Primary Care Physician at the Pickett Road Clinic. Dr. Pong received her medical degree from Duke and then went on to complete her residency training at Bringham and Women's Hospital this past summer. 

Fatima Syed, MD, has been working at the Pickett Road Clinic as a Primary Care Physician since January of 2019 and now joins our GIM faculty. She received her medical degree from the University of Oxford in Oxford, UK, followed by her residency and fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University. 

Bernal, Pong, and Syed are now Assistant Professors in GIM!
