Duke in Depth to explore global challenges Feb. 25-26

The annual alumni event, Duke in Depth, this year takes part in the campus-wide initiative, A World Together: Duke and Global Development to explore global challenges and the future of collaboration with developing countries. Duke will also honor those who have dedicated themselves to the ideal of knowledge serving society by combining this event with a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Peace Corps. Highlights of the weekend include:
  • Expert speakers and panelists, including pioneering social entrepreneur Bill Drayton, CEO and president of ASHOKA
  • Reunion and celebration of Returned Peace Corps Volunteers
  • Live interviews with Dukies around the globe via TelePresence, featuring BBC moderator and host of PRI’s The World, Marco Werman ’83
  • A film on Sargent Shriver, with an introduction by director and producer, Bruce Orenstein
  • Discussion with Duke President Richard Brodhead
  • Presentation by Ken Goodson ’95, advisor, Office of the Director, Peace Corps
  • Participation in a service project with STOP HUNGER NOW
