Duke launches two new, free services to help researchers get answers

As of Jan. 4, Duke has launched two new services - both free -  to connect faculty and staff with the resources they need to expedite their research.

MyResearchNavigators (MRN)

MyResearchNavigators is a team of people who guide investigators in identifying relevant resources, connecting with experts, and understanding processes and best practices in performing research at Duke.  The navigators are available to answer your research questions and can also arrange consultations to support your research idea and point you to funding opportunities.

Faculty and staff can reach the navigators – Anita Brantley and Patrick Killela, PhD – by calling 919.668.7900 (regular business hours) or by email to myresearchnavigators@duke.edu. The navigators are also available through the Research Support Services (RSS) team at 919.684.2243, option 4.

MyResearchNavigators is funded through Duke’s Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA).

Research Support Services (RSS)

The Research Support Services (RSS) group serves as a first-line contact for basic, translational, and clinical researchers requesting assistance. The RSS team provides support for applications and systems, resolving many incoming requests on the first call.

RSS is also an entry point to access a full-service research support network. RSS leverages existing DHTS resources such as the DHTS Service Desk as necessary. The RSS team also interacts with MyResearchNavigators, as well as the MaestroCare Research Concierge and Academic Desktop Support.

RSS is available from 8 a.m.–5 p.m., Monday through Friday by calling the DTHS Service Desk at 919.684.2243 and choosing option 4 for RSS.
