GIM Associate Professor of Medicine, David Edelman, MD, has been selected by Duke Department of Medicine Leadership as a recipient of the 2020 Department of Medicine Career Research Mentoring Award in Clinical/Population Health.
Recipients of these awards demonstrate excellence in numerous aspects of mentoring, including accomplishments of individual mentees, programs implemented by the mentor, or by exceptional creativity in mentoring. This is a new recognition in the Department of Medicine.
Mentoring faculty, fellows, and medical students is something Dr. Edelman thrives on and what he has dedicated much of his career towards.
"The time and advice that Dr. Edelman provides his mentees do not focus on one area of the mentees' career, but rather takes into account the whole person."
- Ranee Chatterjee, MD - GIM Associate Professor of Medicine
Dr. Edelman, along with the other recipients of these awards, was recognized at the virtual Medicine Grand Rounds session that took place Friday, May 1, entitled, Lessons from Master Mentors. Click here to watch the recording.
