Former fellow, Ahmad, receives American College of Cardiology young author award

Tariq Ahmad, MD, MPH, is one of seven young authors to receive the Young Author Achievement Award from the American College of Cardiology in recognition of outstanding research published in one of the sister journals of the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.

Dr. Ahmad trained in the Cardiovascular Disease fellowship program from 2011 to 2015. He was recognized by JACC: Heart Failure for his study "Effects of Left Ventricular Assist Device Support on Biomarkers of Cardiovascular Stress, Fibrosis, Fluid Homeostasis, Inflammation, and Renal Injury."

Ahmad's mentor at Duke was G. Michael Felker, MD, MHS, professor of medicine (Cardiology) and member of the Duke Clinical Research Institute.

Ahmad is currently an assistant professor of medicine (Cardiovascular Medicine) at Yale University.
