At the School of Medicine's Spring Faculty Meeting on May 5, the following Medicine faculty were honored with awards:
Michael Blazing, MD, associate professor of medicine (Cardiology), received the Arnold P. Gold Foundation Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award, which recognizes compassion and sensitivity in the delivery of healthcare.
Barbara Alexander, MD, professor of medicine (Infectious Diseases) and pathology, received the Leonard Palumbo, Jr., MD, Faculty Achievement Award, which recognizes a member of the School of Medicine faculty who displays dedication to compassionate patient care and excellence in the teaching and mentoring of young physicians.
Daniel Mark, MD, professor of medicine (Cardiology), received the Excellence in Professionalism Award, which recognizes the importance of promoting ethical and professional behavior within our community.
James Tcheng, MD, professor of medicine (Cardiology) and community and family medicine, received the Master Clinician/Teacher Award.
