We are proud to announce that two of our faculty members, Drs. Hankollari and Van Kirk, were accepted as participants in the upcoming Duke AHEAD Certificate Program in Health Professions Education and Teaching! This 12-month curriculum was designed for faculty who are interested in health professions education. Members will participate in monthly classes based around educator competencies and will engage in an innovative educational project based upon a departmental or school needs. Upon conclusion graduates will present their work at a program reception.
Elizabeth Hankollari, MD - Assistant Professor in GIM
Dr. Hankollari, has done incredible work as an educator within the hospitalist program at Duke University Hospital and directs the Simulation Program for the Internal Medicine Residency Program. Her development of curricula, successful teaching, and dedication to the residents’ training has made Simulation among one of the most successful courses in the training program.
Jenny Van Kirk, MD - Medical Instructor in GIM, Chief Resident for Duke University Hospital
Dr. Van Kirk readily admits she has a strong passion for medical education. After completion of her chief residency year, her intention is to continue career development as a medical educator with a focus on hospital medicine.
