Internal medicine book club meets on January 28

Being Mortal

Faculty and staff are invited to join the Internal Medicine Book Club, which will meet for the first time on Wednesday, January 28 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Duke Medicine Faculty Center (Seeley G. Mudd Building). January’s meeting will involve a discussion of Atul Gawande’s latest book, Being Mortal. Alicia Clark, MD, and Laura Caputo, MD, started the program to read books tackling medical ethics, gender equality, career development, sustainability, and other issues relevant to modern physicians. If you are interested in attending, email Alicia Clark at Alicia.Clark@duke.edu with your answers to the following questions:

  • What topics you would like to see addressed?
  • Which books do you recommend we add to the reading list?
  • Do you plan to attend our first event on Jan. 28?
