From the Director
HAPPY MARCH!! We are so excited about the new class of interns! Glad we got to celebrate with you all on Friday at Hi-Wire! We are also kicking off both Neph Madness (it really is sweeping the nation) and also MARCH MADNESS! Our very own graduate Pascale Khairallah was a guest star on the fantastic IM podcast “The Curbsiders” for the Neph Madness episode about IV Fluids. Way cool!
Brackets are here! Duke is the ACC champs and the overall No. 1 seed. We are very pleased to announce that the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation has been chosen as the beneficiary of our bracket $$ in honor and memory of Nick Galanos. Please see the email from JVK to enter. And please remind Ernest that Duke beat UNC.
This week is when you will receive your ACGME survey – please check the email from the chiefs with survey information, adapted from the slide set prepared by the Association of Program Directors in Medicine. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask one of the chiefs, an APD or me!
Kudos
Kudos this week go to Juliette Logan for a great chair’s conference, to Josh Lee from Anish Badjatiya for stepping up to cover Anish so he could get to present at ACC, to Jess Regan from Brian Schnieder for team leadership on VA Gen Med, and to Kyle Guerink from Matt Labriola for covering Matt’s shift at Lincoln! Great job everyone!
PubMed from the Program
This week’s pubmed from the program goes to Anish Badjatiya for his abstract at ACC with mentor Schuyler Jones! Anish had a moderated poster presenting about PAD patients treated in the EXSCEL trial.
Have a great week!
