From the Director
It’s finally fall! Doctoberfest in full swing, a successful trivia night, upcoming parties, WeCare week, trivia, and of course snacks and food. And flu shots. Definitely flu shots. If you have not gotten your flu shot, or you have not turned in your flu shot paperwork, NOW is the time. Please get this taken care of so we don’t have to email you and page you about it!
Much going on – we should get ITE scores back soon, Resco is working to help set up a “finishing up the fellowship interviews” info session for those applying, our advising info for residents is getting ready to go live, and the DOM is going to be kicking off a handwashing competition with the Department of Surgery. C’mon, wash those paws – every patient, every time!
Kudos
Kudos this week go to Josh Lee and former IM res and Duke Chief Alyson McGhan who won best poster at the ACG (“Prevalence of Risk Factors for and Presence of Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease in Patients Receiving Endoscopic Ultrasound”), to Kathryn Hutchins for her awesome chair’s conference, to Cassie Lautredou and Nancy Yang from Nick Koutlas for fantastic crosscover at the VA, to JVK from Vinay Choksi and the Gen Med Interns for great support last week, to Claire Smith for her “Living our Values” recognition from the DRH nurses on 5-3, and to also former Duke resident Dev Anderson for his recognition by the Society for Hospital Epidemiology at the recent ID Week meeting.
CONGRATULATIONS to Kerri and Anderson Shore on the birth of Molly! Welcome to the DUKEFAMILY!
