Internal Medicine Residency News, Sept. 3, 2019

From the Director

Happy September! We are cruising into interview season for our SARs, with many thanks in advance to all who are helping out with coverage and to our chiefs and Emily for keeping the schedules updated and for our attendings and teams for outstanding patient care and teaching with the schedule changes. A reminder to the SARs to please keep the interview spreadsheet updated.

Rising SARs, please take note of the short term global health applications – due Sept. 30.  Learn more about the application process.

Also thanks to PWIM (Housestaff Liaison Dr. Suchita Sata and PWIM Chair Dr. Lisa Criscione-Schrieber) for a fun night out at Tobacco Road!

Kudos
Kudos this week go to Anmol Singh and James Deardorff for outstanding SAR talks and to Micah Schub for a fantastic chair’s conference. Also kudos to Kim Darlington from MSIV Nathan Brajer for excellent teaching, to Timothy Hopper from Susan Chioffi and the neurology team for his outstanding patient care and great attitude during a very busy week, to Jordan Gales for being an all around super star from Lara Hayes for his work at DRH, and to Dennis Narcisse, Becca Lumsden, Callie Berkowitz, Liz Hankollari, and the 8100 nursing team (Courtney, Michelle, Jason and Ally) for teamwork and team support during a difficult evening (from Dr. Jenny Van Kirk).

Congratulations to Isaac Bleicher on his engagement!

PubMed from the Program
This week’s pubmed from the program goes to Nick Koutlas for his abstract accepted to the American College of Gastroenterology conference!

Have a great week!
