Jason Webb, MD, GIM Assistant Professor of Medicine and Palliative Care Specialist, was honored this week by Duke University Hospital with a Strength, Hope and Caring Physician Award.
Dr. Webb was recognized for his extraordinary care of a complex patient who was nearing the end of life. Dr. Webb's nomination stated he went above and beyond to meet the goals of this patient and his family. Rather than just writing a note, Webb went a step further and spoke directly with every member of the medical team to make sure everyone was on the same page.
"The collaboration between the multidisciplinary team was truly appreciated and allowed the patient's desires to be met."
The Strength, Hope and Caring Program awards employees who go well beyond expectations and whose actions reflect the very core of who we are as an organization - one that provides strength to people when they are suffering, and hope to the people we serve, and one that provides care even beyond the clinical sense of the word.
