Why GIM? Our core themes cover many essentials: the study of clinical epidemiology, direct patient care, issues in health policy, medical informatics, population science, methods and applications in Health Services Research, all critical building blocks for discerning leaders.

Many of our members right now are honing their leadership skills within their clinics, within their research teams, and as respected educators of residents and medical students. Beyond Duke they have taken on responsibilities in our professional medical societies, some with positions as journal editors, a few as entrepreneurs translating science to mainstream, and many as partners for research in the community, the nation and around the world.
