Monica Kraft, MD, professor of medicine (Pulmonary) and vice chair for research, has organized the Department of Medicine Study Section, a group of 40 faculty nominated by division chiefs to assist in review of proposals for grant/departmental support as well as internal funding RFAs.
Study Section reviewers will provide feedback on proposal mechanics and descriptions of the science.
The Medicine Study Section is a result of feedback we received during the department's Research Retreat in February," said Dr. Kraft. "Faculty across the Department of Medicine requested more access to peer grant review, especially so junior faculty could get more pre-submission support."Kraft explained that the Study Section will also provide input on future Department of Medicine seed-funding and bridge-funding programs.
