An important update for all Duke faculty and trainees who wish to take part in the NIH Loan Repayment Programs (LRPs):
The NIH LRP eligibility criteria specifies that any individual receiving compensation or research funding support from a for-profit institution or organization is ineligible to apply for or receive an LRP award. This means that a Duke faculty member receiving compensation from the PDC is ineligible. An employee of a federal government agency other than NIH – e.g., Durham VA Medical Center – with a work schedule of more than 20 hours per week (4/8ths time) is also ineligible.
