On Feb 9th and 10th, the Society of General Internal Medicine (SGIM) Southern had their second virtual meeting. Dr. Patrick Hemming presented a virtual poster, entitled "Focus on the Relationship: A New Approach to Encouraging Continuity During Transitions for Internal Medicine Resident Patients" with co-authors Dr. Lynn Bowlby, Heather Beau and Dr. Alex Cho. Dr. Nia Mitchell co-chaired the scientific abstract committee.
Duke residents, Drs. Ryan Slauer, Sukrit Jain and Jeff Lee (not pictured) represented Duke against 20 other programs from Virginia to Texas during the virtual Medical Jeopardy. They performed admirably, narrowly missing an outright win on the first round, and putting up a good show.
We hope to continue to grow our presence at the SGIM Southern meetings.
