Recent GIM funding awards

Congratulations to five General Internal Medicine (GIM) faculty members who are recipients of recent research funding.

Keisha Bentley-Edwards received an award from International Business Machines for a project entitled "Protective for Whom: Centering Black Infant and Maternal Health in Understanding Social Determinants." Total funding will be $85,000.

James Davis received an award from Predictably Human, Inc for a project entitled "Aerosol Acceptability PIL & Technology Comprehension Study." Total funding will be $708,268.

Rowena Dolor received an award from COPD Foundation Inc for a project entitled "COVID-19 Cleaning - The CAPTURE Study: Validating a unique COPD screening tool in primary care." Total funding has yet to be determined.

David Ming received an award from Agency of Healthcare Research and Quality for a project entitled "Feasibility Study of a Mobile Digital Personal Health Record for Family-Centered Care Coordination for Children and Youth with Special Healthcare Needs. Total funding will be $299,999. The project period is 09/30/2021-09/29/2023.

Lana Wahid received a sub-award from the National Institutes of Health for a project entitled "Dalbavancin as an Option for Treatment of S. aureus Bacteremia (DOTS): A Phase 2b, Multicenter, Randomized, Open-Label, Assessor-Blinded Superiority Study to Compare the Efficacy and Safety of Dalbavancin to Standard of Care Antibiotic Therapy for the Completion of Treatment of Patients with Complicated S.aureus Bacteremia". Total funding has yet to be determined.
