By admin
The School of Medicine has announced a request for applications for a new pilot study program that has been established in hopes of building research in the basic biology of aging. Applicants may request up to $50,000 for a one-year period. It is anticipated that up to six projects will be funded. This Pilot Studies program is directed toward fostering new research and to expanding and/or establishing interdisciplinary research collaborations to study basic biological mechanisms underlying the aging process. This may involve any disciplines and mechanisms such as metabolic pathways, immunity/inflammation, tissue injury and regeneration/repair, stem cells, genetics, growth regulation, signaling pathways and the use of new model systems. The deadline for applications is December 15. For more details, refer to RFA Duke Center for the Study of Aging and Human Development.
