Our Goals

  1. Grow our palliative care team with people with a diversity of talents who respect one another and feel a sense of belonging and connection.
  2. Ensure that Palliative Care Grand Rounds has diverse speakers and topics.
  3. Ensure that education of fellows, residents and students highlights our commitment to embrace and advance civility and equity.

Creating Change

An example of a specific project that we implemented, is a review of our education for our Hospice and Palliative Medicine fellows and our curriculum now includes discussions on the following topics:

  • Micro and macro aggressions 
  • Historical Trauma 
  • Cultural Competency/nuances related to palliative care 
  • Disparities in Palliative Care
