Course Overview

A variety of recent developments in the field of heart failure (HF) therapies, including novel drugs, new devices, and care innovations inform the current effort to improve heart failure education and refine approaches to disease management for clinicians. Clinicians must remain informed of the most up-to-date evidence to guide optimal treatment strategies and improve outcomes patients living with HF. The symposium will address issues such as diagnosing and managing HFrEF, HFpEF, cardiomyopathies, patient centric approaches to HF care, interventional and device management, cardiometabolic care, artificial intelligence in HF care, and advanced HF management; our local and invited keynote speakers will incorporate case-based lectures, panel discussions and Q&A into the symposium to further address these critical topics.

Target Audience

This program is designed to meet the continuing education (CE) needs of cardiologists, nurses, pharmacists, and other allied healthcare professionals involved in the treatment of heart failure patients.

Learning Objectives

The overall purpose of this event is to discuss advances in heart failure care to enhance learners’ knowledge and competency to incorporate evidence-based updates in clinical practice. At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Recognize current treatment strategies for chronic heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) and heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF), including emerging pharmacologic therapies, updated treatment paradigms, and associated challenges
  • Discuss the evolving landscape of cardiometabolic care, including the use of anti-diabetic and weight management therapies in heart failure populations.
  • Discuss diagnostic and treatment strategies for cardiomyopathies, aiming to enhance early recognition and improve clinical outcomes for patients with cardiac sarcoidosis, amyloidosis, and genetic cardiomyopathies
  • Describe the role of interventional strategies, device management, and remote patient monitoring in the continuum of acute and chronic heart failure care
  • Apply patient-centered approaches in clinic design, education, and research conversations to improve engagement and outcomes in heart failure management
  • Recall optimal timing for evaluation for advanced heart failure therapies and summarize emerging evidence related to cardiac transplantation and durable mechanical circulatory support

Registration Fees

  • Physicians: $175
  • Non-physicians (NPs, PAs, nurses, pharmacists, allied health professionals, etc.): $50
  • Industry representatives: $325
