Joanna Mountain, MD, assistant professor of anthropological sciences, will present "Personal Genomics: The Challenges and Potential of Direct to Consumer Testing" on Thurs., April 14th from 11am-noon.
Dr. Mountain is the senior director of research at 23andMe, Inc., a personal genetics and biotechnology company developing new methods and technologies to enable customers to understand their genetic information. She joined 23andMe from Stanford University where, as a faculty member in the Anthropological Sciences and Genetics Department, she specialized in human evolutionary genetics. Dr. Mountain received her Ph.D. degree in Genetics from Stanford in 1994.
