Retirement Options
There are several options for faculty members who are retiring from Duke and who wish to maintain meaningful engagement with the Department of Medicine and the School of Medicine.
- Retiring from Duke and all full-time employment – consider requesting Emeritus faculty status
- Retiring from Duke but planning to work elsewhere – consider requesting Adjunct faculty status if you will be engaged with teaching, mentoring, or limited research activities at Duke
