Amy Abernethy, MD, associate professor medicine (Medical Oncology) and director of the Duke Cancer Care Research Program and Center for Learning Health Care, was named one of the 30 most influential leaders in hospice and palliative medicine by the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
Visionaries were chosen by AAHPM members for contributions in research, communication, education, for advocating for public policy, for serving as mentors, leaders, and big thinkers in the field, and for their kindness and compassion.
