The Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) has announced that Barbara Alexander, MD, professor of medicine (Infectious Diseases) and pathology, will serve as the IDSA board's vice president as part of the executive committee.
Dr. Alexander serves as Director of Transplant Infectious Disease Services, Head of Clinical Mycology Laboratory, and Director of Microbiology and Transplant Infectious Diseases Fellowship Programs at Duke. Her research interests include clinical and translational research related to infectious complications of solid organ and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.
